Service Engine 100

The Service Engine 100 is the basic model of the Service
Control Platform designed to extend the visibility and control
functions of the network for small to medium service providers.
The SE 100 provides the capabilities of identifying, classifying
and controlling network traffic in a carrier grade 1.5 RU
rack mountable device. The capacity and performance of the
SE 100 provides:
- Stateful classification of up to 100,000 traffic flows
at wire speeds
- Support of up to 10,000 concurrent subscribers
- 2 Fast Ethernet traffic interfaces
- Redundant AC or DC power supplies
- System by-pass mechanism for network service assurance
- Carrier grade platform that is NEBS Level 3 certified
With this capability the SE100 transforms IP access networks
into a services delivery infrastructure over which the service
provider now has full control and visibility. Service providers
can use the SE 100 to bill for very granular service usage
and at the same also control traffic for service delivery
assurance and abuse prevention.
The SE100 seamlessly interfaces with existing network elements
including routers, switches, aggregators, subscriber management
devices and operational support systems, using industry standard
interfaces and communications protocols. Bandwidth usage
reports are fed to a mediation system or directly into BSS/OSS
system. Bandwidth control policies are uploaded to the Service
Engine through simple GUI’s or interfaces provide by the device
and supporting software applications.
Customers of all sizes use the SE 100 in their networks to
perform IP service control and metering of services. This
cost effective solution provides service providers with a
compact, highly flexible service control solution that is
easy to insert within their network.
