Firms and Successful Board Members
Leading and guiding P-Cube's direction and strategy, the
Board of Directors has been assembled from experienced leaders
in the telecommunications and VC community and represent a
long standing track record of successful ventures and investments.
The Board believes that the need for IP Service Control Platforms
is essential for access and transport networks regardless
of geographic location or underlying network architecture,
and that P-cube has a first mover advantage into a very significant
growing market. P-Cube's ability to penetrate and service
those markets is facilitated and supported by the ironclad
support of a global portfolio of investors.
Giora Yaron, Ph.D. - Co-founder,
Chairman of the Board of Directors
Mr. Yaron has extensive experience leading and driving technology
companies to exceptional success. He served as President of
Indigo NV, leading its transformation from a research and
development company to a global leader in digital printing.
Mr. Yaron was also a corporate Vice President at National
Semiconductor where he directed the company's worldwide Embedded
Processor business unit and its Israeli operations.
Yuval Shahar - Co-founder,
President and Chief Executive Officer
Yuval Shahar is P-Cube's president and chief executive officer
providing both leadership and vision. Yuval brings over 20
years of domain experience in the network infrastructure segment
to P-Cube. Prior to P-Cube, Yuval co-founded Pentacom, a pioneer
in Dynamic Packet Transport (DPT) products and, previously,
led the creation of Infogear, which developed some of the
industry's first web appliances. Both companies were acquired
by Cisco. Additionally, Yuval served as Vice President of
Research and Development at VocalTec, where he directed programs
resulting in the creation of the first set of VoIP architectures
and products, which later enabled the company's IPO. Additionally,
Yuval has held senior positions at both National Semiconductor
Corporation and Motorola where he worked on data and voice
communications products and protocols.
Jim Flach
Mr. Flach is a Partner with Accel Partners, a well-respected
and proven venture capital firm in Silicon Valley. During
his tenure at Accel he served in Chairman roles for Agile
Networks, Netlink (Cabletron), Sentient Networks, Teleos Communications
(Madge Networks) and Vivo Software. Currently, he is the acting
CEO of Bandwidth9, Inc. He also serves on the board of CenterBeam,
Freegate, GoDigital Telecommunications, Hybrid Networks, RedBack
Networks (where he also served as CEO) and Vertical Networks.
Prior to Accel Partners, Mr. Flach was a Vice President at
Intel and General Manager of their Personal Computer Enhancement
Division. He came to Intel in 1989 following the acquisition
of Jupiter Technology where he had been CEO. Prior to Intel,
Mr. Flach held numerous business and technical positions at
Xerox Corporation, including Vice President of Systems Engineering
and Vice President and General Manager of the Network Systems
Business Unit where he was responsible for the worldwide P&L
of the Xerox Network business.
Ray Rothrock
Ray Rothrock is a Managing General Partner for Venrock Associates.
Ray Rothrock joined Venrock in 1988. His focus is primarily
Internet companies and information technology in general.
Ray serves on the boards of CheckPoint (NASDAQ: CHKP) of Tel
Aviv, Israel and a number of private board affiliations Qpass,
Inc., Space.com, NeoPhotonics, P-Cube, Inc. and SteelEye Technology,
Inc. He previously served on the board of Spyglass (NASDAQ:
SPYG), DIGEX, Inc. (acquired by Intermedia Communications)
and Haystack Labs (acquired by Trusted Information Systems/Network
Associates). He also led Venrock's investment in DoubleClick
(NASDAQ: DCLK).
Scott Bonham
Scott Bonham is a Managing Director at Granite Global Ventures.
Scott Bonham joined Granite Global Ventures from the Capital
Group Companies, Inc. where he served most recently as a Vice
President and managed technology investments across 10 mutual
funds. Scott's responsibilities covered a wide range of companies
including computer systems, storage, networking, wireless,
software, and contract manufacturing. Prior to joining the
Capital Group, Scott spent four years at Silicon Graphics
Inc. where he served as a product line manager. He was responsible
for product marketing and revenue of SGI's second largest
division and managed a multi-million dollar marketing budget.
Scott also has prior work experience as a consultant at Booz,
Allen & Hamilton Inc. and as a systems engineer and maintenance
foreman at General Motors. Scott received a B.S. in Electrical
Engineering from Queen's University (Canada) and an M.B.A.
from the Harvard Graduate School of Business. Scott is on
the board of directors of P-Cube and Zettacom.
Ohad Finkelstein
Between January 1999 and July 2002 Mr. Finkelstein served
as Chairman, President, and CEO of the Interoute Telecom Group,
a rapidly growing pan-European telecommunications company
building one of the largest fiber optic networks in Europe.
Prior to joining Interoute, Mr. Finkelstein served as Senior
Vice President International Sales and Vice President Global
Operations for VocalTec Communications Ltd He has also served
as a senior advisor for I.D.E.A., a world leader in financial
and economic analysis. Mr. Finkelstein was Director of Computers
and Peripherals at Eurocom Communications Ltd. and Head of
International Activities at Packard Bell Electronics. Mr.
Finkelstein holds bachelors degrees in Political Science and
International Marketing from the University of California
in Los Angels (UCLA).
Michael Rolnick
Michael Rolnick, a partner with ComVentures, focuses his investments
on network infrastructure, including communications, computing,
storage, security and wireless. Michael's recent investments
and board seats, in addition to P-Cube Inc., include Active
Reasoning; Azul Systems; Intruvert Networks, acquired by Network
Associates (NET); Persist Technologies, acquired by HP (HPQ);
RLX Technologies and MonoSphere. Prior to joining ComVentures,
Michael served as Vice President for New Ventures at E*TRADE
Group, Inc. In that role, he was responsible for merger, acquisition
and joint venture activities, new business development, and
strategic investments, and was an early investor in Critical
Path (CPTH), and Digital Island, acquired by Cable & Wireless
(CWP). Prior to E*TRADE, Michael was with Braxton Associates
and Montgomery Securities. He holds an MBA from the University
of Michigan, an MSc from the London School of Economics, and
a BA from the University of Michigan.
Benny Schnaider - Co-founder
Mr. Schnaider is presently in a key management position at
Cisco Systems. Previously, he was the Chief Executive Officer
of PentaCom Ltd., which was eventually acquired by Cisco.
He has over 15 years of embedded system experience with expertise
in high-capacity switching solutions. Mr. Schnaider's design
accomplishments include ASICs and network systems for industry
leaders such as Cisco and 3Com.
Board of Directors Observers
David Helfrich
Mr. Helfrich is the founding partner at a new technology-based
buyout firm called Garnett & Helfrich Capital. Previously,
he was a partner with ComVentures, a leading venture capital
firm in Silicon Valley where he led early-stage investments
in P-Cube Inc., Cosine(2B+ public offering), Entera ($400M
acquisition by Cacheflow) and Intruvert (recent $100M acquisition
by Network Associates). Prior to joining ComVentures, he was
Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Copper Mountain Networks
and Vice President of Marketing for 3Com. Mr. Helfrich joined
3Com as a member of their acquisition of Centrum Communications,
a strategic purchase by 3Com to strengthen their presence
in the wide area networking markets. Mr. Helfrich served as
Centrum's Vice President of Marketing. He was also a key member
of the original team at Ascend Communications where he served
as Vice President of Sales and Marketing.
Joe Golden
Joe Golden is a General Partner for Accel Europe and has over
20 years of experience in the telecommunications and networking
industry. With his extensive European operating experience,
he brings to Accel Europe a unique technical and commercial
understanding of the global telecommunications and networking
space, and trans-Atlantic technology transfer and growth.
Prior to joining Accel, Joe was the Managing Director of Cisco
Systems Business Development and Strategic Alliances for Europe,
Middle East and Africa, based in London and reporting directly
to Mike Volpi, the Chief Strategy Officer at Cisco.
Boaz Dinte
Boaz Dinte joined Evergreen in 1996 and is a Partner. Mr.
Dinte focuses on Evergreen's investments in communications
companies, with emphasis on the wireless sector, storage and
cable technologies. Prior to joining Evergreen, Mr. Dinte
was Corporate Business Development Manager for M-Systems Ltd.,
a NASDAQ-listed global leader in flash-disk memory and a successfully
exited Evergreen portfolio company. Mr. Dinte initiated and
was responsible for Evergreen's investments in Exalink (since
sold to Comverse), and is actively involved in Xcitel, P-Cube,
Exanet, BigBand Networks, Appstream, Simplement and Gate42.
Darren Ho
Darren Ho is presently a General Partner of Venture TDF. From
1998 to 2001, Mr. Ho was a director of investment of Venture
TDF, with responsibility for sourcing and evaluating investment
opportunities and for investment and divestment decisions.
Mr. Ho has built in-depth knowledge of the telecommunication
and e-infrastructure sectors and has established strong industry
connections in the U.S. and Israel. He is a board member of
Integrated Micromachines (IMMI) and a board observer to P-Cube
and Kagoor.
Moshe Bar-Niv
Moshe Bar-Niv is General Partner for Ascend Technology Ventures
and has over 20 years of experience in the high-tech community.
He has held executive positions in global corporations such
as Intel and Motorola in both Israel and the US. During the
past decade, he has been a knowledgeable and experienced investor
in all aspects of the high tech industry. Prior to founding
Ascend, Moshe founded Trinet Venture Capital in 1994. He holds
B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Industrial Engineering and Management
from Ben Gurion University.
Alfred T. Chu
Alfred Chu is currently a Principal at the Panasonic Digital
Concepts Center, Matsushita's venture capital and incubator
practice in Silicon Valley, where he focuses on communications
(wireline and wireless), semiconductor, and software investments.
Besides working with P-Cube, Alfred also manages business
development responsibilities with Bay Microsystems, Broadband
Physics, Ikanos, Montavista Software, Panta Systems, Raindance
(RDNC), Senvid and Tensilica. Prior to Matsushita, Alfred
worked in the investment banking division of Salomon Smith
Barney and in the channel logistics and fulfillment department
at Hewlett Packard. |
